A Message From Our Director

Hi Camp Beyond Team,

Thank you for your incredible patience and understanding while we have worked through several options for camp this summer. The decision whether to operate Camp Beyond has been driven by finding a clear and realistic path to safety for our entire camp community.

Despite relentless efforts, we do not see a pathway to in-person camp that ensures the health and safety of our camp family. Because this is our inaugural year, we have made the heartbreaking but necessary decision to postpone all versions of camp, including virtual opportunities, until summer 2021 when we can all gather in one place together. Doing so will allow us to start our camp the way we should - as one team, in one place.

We are deeply saddened that we will not be together at the University of Rhode Island this summer. We have, however, felt your incredible energy and excitement even without meeting you in person, and that speaks to the spirit of Camp Beyond. We are confident that our founding spirit will persevere and prevail despite this unexpected turn.

Our attention to detail and commitment to the camp experience will enable us to plan and execute an unforgettable in-person camp experience in 2021 that will exceed all expectations! We will take all of the dreaming, planning, and excitement we have built over the past year and amplify it to come back even stronger. You are a part of the Camp Beyond family and your child has a reserved spot at camp in summer 2021, and it goes without saying that we hope you will be with us next summer. If you have already paid for Camp Beyond, you will be reimbursed in full in the coming weeks.

Until then, we are already counting down the days until Camp Beyond 2021. Please remember to take care of each other, and to give the world the best you can today, tomorrow and the next day. See you in 409 days!
